ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
ELECTION PROCESS
Under the Rules of Battersea Ironsides RFC Ltd, the Management Committee have determined that, the election of the:
Club Officers, Youth Chair, Minis Chair and Club President will be via an electronic poll of the membership registered on the Club’s Management Software “Spond” [Rule: 15.7]. The Club Officers being: the Chairperson, the Secretary, the Treasurer and four Committee Members.
Mens Chair by vote at a meeting of the members of the Mens section [Rule: 16.2.3].
Women’s Chair by vote at a meeting of the members of the Women’s Section [Rule: 16.2.3].
Club Captain by vote at a joint meeting of the members of the Mens and Women’s sections [Rule: 16.2.4]
“Spond” Election Process:
1. Nominations for election:
Club Officers: nomination is by two or more members, with the written consent of the candidate, save that no candidate may be nominated for more than one office.
Youth Chair & Minis Chair: nomination is by two or more members of the Junior Rugby Club Section, with the written consent of the candidate.
Club President: nomination is by two or more members, with the written consent of the candidate
2. Term of Office & Powers of the Management Committee
The Chairperson, the Secretary and the Treasurer, will be elected for a 2 year term.
The Mens Chair, the Women’s Chair, the Youth Chair and the Minis Chair, will be elected for a 2 year term.
The four Committee Members, the Club President and the Club Captain will be elected for a 1 year term.
The Management Committee will comprise of eleven voting members [the seven Club Officers and the four Section Chairs] and two non-voting members [the Club President and the Club Captain].
3. Election Timetable
Monday 25th October - nominations for election to be sent by email to Secretary of BIRFC Ltd (secretary@ironsides.rugby.com).
Friday 12th November - nomination process closes at midnight.
Nominated candidates invited by BIRFC secretary to confirm their intent to stand for election and submit a short paragraph to both introduce themselves to the membership and state why they should be elected to represent the membership on the Management Committee. To be completed by Tuesday, 16th November.
Thursday 18th November -
a) Candidate Profiles posted on BIRFC website & messaged to the membership by Spond
b) “Spond” election poll opens.
Sunday 21st November - “Spond” election process closes at 24:00.
Wednesday 24th November - election results announced and new BIRFC Management Committee introduced to the membership.
