The Ironsides ‘Firework Festival’

Ironsides host their very own mini festival for the first time ever! Sunday 5th November - remember, remember!

As a community rugby club, Ironsides Junior Rugby Club uses every piece of green space in Wandsworth, each Sunday throughout the winter season.

We are so lucky to be invited to incredible rugby grounds, throughout London and Surrey, almost every weekend, to play in their festivals. With multiple locations and so many players, it's hard to host our own Ironsides Festival

However… on Sunday 5th November 2023, we achieved it! For the first time ever, we hosted tournaments across all Mini Age Groups at HOME at Openview!! (or near enough!)

Our friends at Hammersmith and Fulham Rugby Club dared to cross the river, and experienced our Ironsides' 2,3 Hospitality and Might! 

🛠 Irons and Hammers went head to head! All 500 strong of them, from ages U7 to U11! It was MAGIC! 🌟

Getting all of our mini rugby stars and their guests back to the Clubhouse, was no mean feat..... 🌧 the rain tried SO hard to stop play! 

But… just like the Ironsides Tanks, we ploughed on, conquered, and delivered, 🌭 Free Hotdogs for every Player, 🏅 Team MVP Medals and 🏆 "Irons x Hammers" AgeGroup Trophies. Quite frankly, a wonderful,  memorable morning for all!

A huge, huge thank you to all of the Hammers, who played hard and fair and, most importantly, stuck around to share a hotdog and a pint afterwards!

So…
