Ironsides Crowned Community Club of the Year

Battersea Ironsides Rugby Club confirmed as the inaugural winners of the Harlequins Community Club of the Year award!

Everyone at Ironsides is thrilled to have been recognised by Quins for this award.

Here is what Harlequins had to say regarding our acheivement.

‘The Club are delighted to confirm Battersea Ironsides Rugby Club as the inaugural winners of the Harlequins Community Club of the Year award – in recognition of their incredible work and dedication to growing rugby participation in the local community.

Battersea Ironsides will be presented with their award at the prestigious annual End of Season Awards at Troxy on Tuesday 21 May in central London joined by Harlequins Men’s and Women’s players and supporters in celebration of the achievements of the last 12 months.

Zoe Goodwin, Battersea Ironsides Minis Chair, said: “Everyone at Battersea Ironsides is thrilled to have been recognised by Harlequins as the Community Club of the Year.

Hundreds of our junior members join the Harlequins Camps hosted at Ironsides during the school holidays, lots of our families are Quins Season Tickets holders, and many lucky Ironsiders have played at Twickenham Stadium in advance of the Big Game and Big Summer Kick-Off, as part of the community programme.

With many of our youth members selected as part of the Harlequins Academy as well, we are all incredibly proud to have our links to Quins recognised through this inaugural Community Award, thank you!”

Harlequins Head of Community Mark Cadogan added: “I’m delighted that Battersea Ironsides have won our inaugural ‘Community Club of the Year’ award. It’s a fitting testament not only to their work in developing rugby within their own local community, but also the strong collaborative relationship they’ve cultivated with Harlequins through rugby camps and match day activations throughout the course of the season.”

Well done to all our members, players, volunteers, supporters who are all a part of making this happen and a big thank you to Harlequins.
