Ironsides News

Ironsides Rugby has been awarded the Guinness World Records title for the largest rugby tour ever!

Ironsides Minis have been recognised as Officially Amazing by Guinness World Records for our massive tour to Minehead over the May Bank Holiday weekend - in celebration of Ironsides' 75th anniversary season.

306 Ironsides players and coaches - making up 28 Teams from U7 to U12 - made the trip to this year’s Tigers’ Challenge Tournament hosted ESF and Butlin’s Minehead. The total number of tourists was 579, made up of 236 players, 70 coaches and 273 other Ironsiders who headed down to the West Country to support them!

Ironsides Minis Tour Report
It was a fantastic weekend of rugby with teams playing a full programme of matches on Saturday and Sunday against teams from across England and Wales. And was amazing to see so many Ironsiders having so much fun in the Somerset Sunshine!

On Saturday evening we were kindly hosted by Minehead Barbarians RFC for a delicious hog roast and party at their clubhouse.

And on Sunday evening all the teams were presented with medals by Leicester Tigers legend Tom Croft.

You can check out all our team photos below.
