#IronsidesRugbyFit - FINAL WEEK


Dear Ironsider,
 
We are really pleased to share with you our Jason “Wicks” Rugby Fitness and Strength & Conditioning Programme for our current lockdown, which will start this week. For those who don’t know Jason St Clair he is our S&C Coach who has been working very closely with our Ladies and older youth teams, for the past three seasons.  

Details are as follows: 

Sunday: Junior RugbyFit: (starts: Sunday 17th Jan)
For our 1st session (Sunday 17th January), we will run the following sessions by zoom meeting: 
-  u7 to u9; 1:30pm to 1:55pm
-  u10 to U11, + Boys: u12; 2:00pm to 2:25pm
-  u13 to u14 + Girls (u13/u15): 2:40pm to 3:15pm

As from Sunday 24th January, sessions will move to Sunday morning. 
-  u7 to u9; 9:00 to 9:25:
-  u10 to U11, + Boys: u12: 9:30 to 9:55:
-  Boys: u13 to u14 + Girls (u13/u15): 11:15 to 11:45:

We advise families, with players across the age groups, to join just one session and to initially try the session for their youngest child.
 
Tuesday night: One Club Adults RugbyFit (starts: Tuesday: 19th Jan)
Time:  7:40pm to 8:10pm

Wednesday night: U15/U16/Colts S&C (started: Weds: 13th Jan)
Time: 7:00pm to 7:30pm

All members will have received an email with links to Zoom sessions for Junior RugbyFit and One Club Adults RugbyFit sessions. For U15/U16/Colts S&C sessions, you should continue to book your space through your normal sign up process for your age group.
 
As we are paying for these sessions out of Battersea Ironsides Membership Fees, please do not share these Zoom links outside of our Rugby Club community.

Junior Rugby Fitness
We wanted to bring something for our younger players to do now that rugby is on hold. Ironsides RugbyFit with Jason is a Weekly Live Online session based around movements that help strengthen, build balance, flexibility and improve our athletic ability. 
It is a bodyweight programme that kids can participate in from all levels. 
You don't need much space, a 1.5m by 1.5m space is all that's needed, and if you have more then, then that's great and if you have a little less that's ok.
If you have a rugby ball and a tennis ball bring it along, if you don't no worries, bring any ball of a similar size and you can use that, there isn't any specific skill work but some challenges you can do inside with the ball (don't worry parents, no kicking or passing). 

Ironsides Adult Online Fitness Session
It can't just all be for the kids, once a week Jason will put on a live online fitness session for the parents of Ironsides Rugby players.
This will be 99% bodyweight based (we may use a towel every now and then).
We will cover a total body workout focused on getting you moving. 
You don't need much space, a 1.5m by 1.5m space is all that's needed, and if you have more then, then that's great and if you have a little less that's ok too.
